Grass and hay or something sweet?

Perhaps they like yoga and healthy green smoothies.”

Have you seen a unicorn?

It has a horn...so like a rhino?

It has four feet...human feet?

It has a tail...a fish tail?

In this gorgeous rhyming take on what unicorns might be like in REAL life, author Jessie Larsen encourages young readers to listen and respond, laugh along with the ridiculous suggestions made by the narrator and select descriptive language for communicating pictures of their imagination, clearly. She creates a fun, interactive experience for the reader by finishing some of the lines and stanzas with a question mark, provoking thought and discussion.

Larsen's written word is complimented beautifully by Natasha Fitzpatrick's quirky and colourful illustrations. Her pictures are bursting with personality and humour - from the surprised unicorn with human feet to the caring Nan-corn and Pop-corn, babysitting their unicorn grandies, each unicorn character expresses emotion that children will be able relate to.

Have You Seen a Unicorn? is a bright and engaging book that will have tamariki racing off to find their colour pencils and creating their own idea of what a unicorn looks like!

“And where is it that these unicorns hide?

Do they live in a pack, do they live in a pride?

Do they live in a parliament or in a tribe?

Do they like it outdoors, do they like it inside?”
